sharing the music,
sharing the journey
I’m Tim — founder and instructor at String Theory Guitar Studio — and I’ve spent decades writing, performing, and recording music. I teach the way I learned: patiently, step-by-step, with repetition that builds skill and confidence.
My roots run deep in the American acoustic, hard-rock and metal worlds as a guitarist, songwriter, and recording artist — including my time with Once Upon a Tyme… (Hit City Records / Turner’s World Publishing). That chapter is documented in Encyclopaedia Metallum (The Metal Archives), the definitive historical archive for metal, progressive and hard-rock artists.
But the point isn’t the résumé — it’s what this experience brings into every lesson: practical musicianship, proven practice methods, and the ability to translate professional experience into clear, usable steps for everyday players. From writing and recording original songs, to studio sessions and live performances, I’ve learned what works, what wastes time, and how to help you make progress that you can hear.
Guitar doesn't care how long you've been away. Neither do I.
At String Theory Guitar Studio, we work at your pace — not the internet's, not some algorithm's. Whether you've never played a note or you set the guitar down twenty years ago and just picked it back up, we start where you are. We build useful skills, keep it structured without making it stiff, and we don't waste your time.
You've got goals. Let's go get them.
