sharing the music,
sharing the journey
Hi,
I’m Tim, founder and instructor here at String Theory Guitar Studio. Having been playing guitar since I was a kid, I spent decades writing, performing, and loving music. I’ve signed and recorded with an indy record label, toured with my band, been fortunate to play with some phenomenal musicians, and played a wide variety of music - including rock, pop, metal and Americana acoustic.
Influenced by so many great players — each with their own style and sound — the common thread has always been those lyric-driven, honest musicians who told stories with a six-string and a melody. Their art shaped my musical voice, and now I’m here to help you, as I can, shape your own.
String Theory Guitar Studio is built for players. People who want to learn the right way, without pressure or pretense. We believe that exploring music is a creative journey — one that builds confidence, focus, and joy. Whether you’re brand new to the guitar or on a quest of rediscovery, this is a place where you’re encouraged to grow at your own pace — with guidance that’s practical and personal. I teach the way I learned — through patience, repetition, and a relentless commitment to discovery and growth.
I started STGS because I understand what it’s like to work through a song, a melody, or even just a chord change — one step at a time. If sharing what I’ve learned helps someone find solid footing on their personal journey, that’s a day well spent. We don’t chase perfection. We chase progress, expression, and the pure satisfaction of realizing what you’re capable of — one note at a time.
If you’re curious, you’re ready.
